Checking Out Fedora 17 Beta

It has been a long time since I looked at Fedora. It has never been one of my favorite Distro’s. It has always given me trouble and was a pain to install. Last week I downloaded about 6 or 7 Distro’s to check them out and one of them was Fedora 17 Beta. I was pleasantly surprised that it installed with out a problem. It took me awhile to get to using Yum and to install Google Chrome, But I finally figured it out. I put it on a spare 40 GB HD that I keep for testing new Software. I have Hard Drive Racks in my test machine and can swap out a hard drives in a matter of seconds. I am still trying to get use to it and will report my experience with it after I have had a chance to really try it out. So far it is fast and installed on a machine that Mint would not. That is another story for a later time.
